Invitation to Adopt a Seminarian

The Vocations Committee of the Charlotte/Greece/Hilton Parishes invites parishioners to send an occasional note of encouragement to the seminarians of the Diocese of Rochester, not only to give them a word from “home” but also to thank them for their willingness to discern a vocation to the diocesan priesthood. We need good, holy priests to serve the Church and to carry on the generous pastoral ministry of our priests, and affirming a young man’s call to discern a vocation is something that we can all do.

St. Lawrence is again adopting Charles Moskov and Matthew Smith. All of the parishes have been asked also to include Anthony Nicolosi who is one of our own! Their addresses are below. Please send along only a note or a card, no snacks or treats, and don’t expect that they will respond – they are very busy with their studies and would surely appreciate a note of encouragement! Thank you very much for your consideration, and for praying for our seminarians!

This month’s Rosary will be Sunday, October 18 following the 10 am Mass (approx. 11am). We’ll meet for coffee and breakfast treats before praying the Joyful Mysteries.

SHARE SUNDAY – OCTOBER 18, 2026

        Our Share Sunday for October will benefit the Bethany House. It provides temporary housing, assistance and support to women and children in crisis in Rochester NY that are afflicted with homelessness and instability from domestic violence, incarceration, addiction, mental health, physical illness or poverty.
Bethany House also has “front door services” providing meals, clothing, blankets and hygiene items to the homeless street population. They have a food pantry which distributes food on Tuesday and Thursday as well.
Bethany house is staffed and operated by Catholic Worker Volunteers that operate solely on donations.

As always, the Human Development Committee of St. Lawrence thank you for your generosity as we share a little of what we have. Please have your donations to church by Oct. 18th at 11:00 a.m.
