Youth Ministry

Fun, Faith, and Fellowship
St. Lawrence Youth Ministry is a comprehensive program which offers social, service and spiritual opportunities for adolescents in 6th – 12th grade.  This ministry includes monthly youth meetings, community service and social events as well as retreats, Bible Study, leadership training and mission trips. We also  participate in our Diocesan Retreats, National Conferences and Leadership training.   We welcome all Young Adult and Adult volunteers in our program.

Youth Group Meetings:
St. Lawrence Youth Ministry is teaming up with St. Charles Youth Ministry.

Community Service:

  1. Our Parish Garage Sale will take place with intake on September 5th-8th and Garage Sale on September 12th-14th.  If you are interested in helping, please contact me for specific times for the above dates.
  2. Volunteers needed for the first annual St. Ann’s Community Walk, Saturday, September 14th at St. Ann’s Community on the Portland Avenue Campus from 8:00 a.m-12:00 p.m.
  3. Volunteers needed for the Mary Cariola Center’s annual Walking on Sunshine community fundraiser on Sunday, September 22nd at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Penfield from 8:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. to work in the food and beverage area.

Social:
Summer Kickball:  Along with our neighboring parishes, we offer an opportunity to play kickball this summer on Wednesday evenings beginning on July 10th.  This week’s game (Wednesday, July 24th) will be played here at St. Lawrence. beginning at 6:30 p.m.   All are welcome to play.

CYO Fall Soccer: For any 3rd-6th graders interested, St. Lawrence has 2 soccer teams that participate in CYO Soccer in the Fall.  There are 10 games played beginning later in September and going until the end of October.  There is a registration fee of $65.  You can register via
e-mail to me or by filling out a registration form found on our parish website.

Liturgical Ministers:  St. Lawrence Church is in need of Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Choir members and Altar Servers to help out (typically) once a month at our 4:00 p.m. Saturday Masses and our 8:00 and 10:00 a.m. Sunday Masses.  Please send me an e-mail or call if you would like more information regarding any of these ministries
